Solar Sun Rings

Going Solar is as Easy as 1, 2, 3

Solar sun rings are one of the many ways pool owners can lower your carbon footprint and increase the amount of time you can use your pool. If you want to get more usage out of your pool, add 10-15 degrees to the water temperature, decrease evaporation, and keep your pool a little cleaner, then you may want to look into solar sun rings. These are one of the ways you can get more use out of your pool.

Solar sun rings are an easy option to those consumers who want to prevent evaporation and heat loss but do not want to deal with a cumbersome solar pool blanket. Solar sun rings can be inflated and laid out in the pool to raise the water temperature by as much as fifteen degrees.

Here are the three easy steps to setting up your solar sun rings.

You will need to inflate your solar sun rings. A lot of the time, people overinflate their solar sun rings. This can cause them to catch in the wind and blow to one side of the pool or even out of the pool. You may need to play around with inflation levels so you find what works best for your area.

Lay your solar sun rings out in the pool. You want make sure they are sticking together with the magnets and that there is minimal space between each ring. The goal is to get these rings to cover at least 70 percent of your pool. Do not expect three or four rings to do the trick. You will likely need at least ten. Remember, you do not need the whole pool covered, but you will need most of it.

Make sure you remove and store when your cleaner is going to be running. Solar sun rings are easy to take out of the pool – much easier than a solar blanket. Just slip each ring out of the water and stack them on top of each other. Then place them back in the pool once the cleaner stops running. You can leave them in while the cleaner is going, but your pool will not get as clean.

Solar sun rings are a fairly inexpensive and simple way to get more usage out of your pool. These rings can be found on Amazon or in your local pool store. There are even diagrams for how to make your own online. Enjoy the added temperature and extend the life of your swimming season!
