Intex Solar Pool Cover

Find Out the TRUTH About Intex Solar Pool Covers

Looking for a solar pool cover for your above-ground pool that is light and inexpensive? Then the Intex Solar Pool Cover may be for you. Want a thick, high-quality, oversized solar pool cover? Then the Intex cover is not for you. The Intex solar pool cover is cheap, but in this case you seem to get what you pay for.

Intex Solar Pool covers come in a variety of sizes. They sell 10’, 12’, 15’ and 18’. They have covers available for both their Easy-Set and Metal Frame pools. It can be challenging to spread the thin blanket all the way over the pool, thereby defeating the purpose of keeping debris out and water temperature up. Intex suggests using a friend to help you get the cover completely over the pool, but we have found that even with help the cover simply does not stretch over the whole pool.

If you search around the Internet, you can find various other customer reviews that say the same thing. The Intex solar pool cover has numerous dime-sized holes all over it. According to the Intex website, these holes are to prevent water or sprinkler build-up from collecting on your cover. Unfortunately, these holes do nothing to help the sun’s power hold the water temperature at a higher level.

Another concern with the Intex solar pool cover is how quickly it falls apart. You can expect less than a year’s use out of this cover. It is worth it to spend the extra money to get a higher quality cover than to get a cheap cover that will not completely cover your pool and is really not much more than blue-dyed bubble wrap.

Do your research when it comes to getting a solar pool cover so you get the most for your money. Remember that not only do solar pool covers keep out debris, but they also need to be thick enough to trap in the heat and stop evaporation. The Intex solar pool cover does none of these things.
